Other news: Spring 2026-our new Vetenskapsrådet-funded research project, Polyengines: the mutational engines of polyploid success, begins.
Polyengines explores how whole-genome duplication reshapes genome stability and variation. In this project, we test whether early DNA repair and kinetochore mismatches act as mutational engines generating structural genomic diversity. This project uses graph-based pangenomics, gamete sequencing, and super-resolution cytology to understand polyploid adaptation via early genome (mis)management.
